About Us

We are a hot yoga and hot pilates studio in the heart of Leeds city centre. Anyone can feel amazing inside and out by practicing at The Hot Room Leeds, because the engineered heat and the expert instructions create fast and measurable results. We offer classes throughout the day, seven days a week.

Original Hot Yoga

The Original Hot Yoga sequence (also know as Bikram yoga) is a series of 26 hatha yoga postures, performed in 40°c heat, suitable for new and advanced practitioners alike. It was made popular by Bikram Choudhury.

Original Hot Yoga is an intense and challenging yet gentle form of exercise, suitable for all ages and all levels of ability. The Original Hot Yoga Yoga Class consists of a set series of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises, performed in a room heated to 40 degrees Celsius. The heat allows the muscles and ligaments to relax, and will help you attain a deeper stretch and a more effective full-body workout.

Our Studio

Our state-of-the-are hot yoga facility has a purpose built hot room that uses blower (forced air) technology, to create the ultimate hot yoga and hot pilates experience.

Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, we have closed our physical studio for the time being.

However, we still have DAILY ONLINE classes in our VIRTUAL STUDIO!

The classes are available via the Zoom app to anyone with an active membership or class card. In our virtual Zoom classes the teacher is able to see and interact with you in real time, and even correct your postures (if you want!) We offer Original Hot Yoga (Bikram Yoga), Inferno Hot Pilates, Warm Yin and Warm Vinyasa Flow classes, and we are open seven days a week.

  • The studio offers a full range of amenities:

    • Toilets and shower facilities
    • Make-up mirrors and hair dryers
    • A chill-out space to connect with your fellow yogis
    • Complimentary tea before and after class
    • Complimentary fresh filtered drinking water
    • Yoga mat and towel rentals for your convenience
    • A boutique selling clothing, mats, water bottles and other yoga-related items

The Studio

Our yoga room has been designed in collaboration with experts from the US and Scandinavia to achieve a state-of-the-art hot yoga environment. Drawing upon the Scandivanian experience of creating well insulated spaces in a hostile climate, the walls, floor and ceiling have all been insulated, to create a 'hot box' that will maintain a warm temperature, even in between classes.

The heating system has been carefully constructed to create a constant and even temperature of 40c, with a humidity level of 40%. The exchange of fresh air is carefully monitored throughout every class with the help of a CO2 meter, making sure that there is plenty of fresh, oxygenated air in the room at every given moment.

The flooring of our yoga room is slip-safe and has sound reducing acoustic properties. It is ergonomically designed for underfoot comfort and anti-fatigue benefits. The flooring material contains antimicrobial agents, giving it antibacterial as well as antifungal properties. And most importantly, all floors are cleaned in between every class.

"Your true duty lies in the struggle for what is right, that is your Karma Yoga."

Keeping It Green

At The Hot Room Leeds we are committed to environmental sustainability and ethically sourced products. This is reflected everything we do, from our choice of building materials, to the cleaning products we use, to the products we sell in our retail section.

We do not sell bottled water as we do not like to add to the usage of disposable plastic packaging. Instead we provide a bottle filling station where you can fill your own bottle with cold, fresh, filtered water. We provide paraben-free, eco friendly shower gel in our showers and we sell delicious locally brewed Kombucha, that has travelled less than two miles. And we love it when you walk or cycle to the studio. In short, we do our best to keep the planet green, clean and healthy.

"We don't practice yoga to have a good class. We practice to have a good life."
